Q: What is the official supported Operating System Version policy?
NOTE: This is our OS support policy, NOT our list of supported OSs. The information provided herein is meant
to allow you to determine if your OS is too old to be supported by Monetra, mainly due to security/PCI concerns.
As per PCI data security requirement 6.1, merchants must ensure all system components have the latest vendor-supplied patches installed, which implies that each component of their system must be actively supported by the vendor of that component. In following these rules, Monetra supports only those OS versions which are actively maintained by the originating vendor.
Appendix B of the PCI data security requirements do make exceptions for those merchants which have implemented sufficient compensating controls for any requirement. If a merchant has a need for an OS which Monetra does not support, as long as that merchant's PCI validator has signed off on the compensating controls, Main Street can be contracted to offer custom support for said OS for a fee.
Please reference the table below for some known dates of support discontinuation for various OS vendors. For more information on OS version continuation, please contact the vendor of your Operating System.
Red = Discontinued, Yellow = Customer Action Required, Green = Supported
Note:This is not a complete list but instead provided as a convenience. As always, contact your OS vendor for support information. In no way does this list imply versions that are supported by Monetra, it only helps in determining what is definitely NOT supported by Monetra. If a newer version of your OS is not listed here, but it is an OS supported by Monetra, it should be supported
