Date: July 30, 2010 Title: Monetra® Receives PA-DSS Security Validation FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Julyr 30, 2010 Monetra® with CardShield® Receives PA-DSS Security Validation Gainesville, FL, July 30, 2010 - Main Street Softworks, Inc., a leading developer of integrated payment processing software for retail point of sale, e-commerce systems and embedded applications, today announced the completion of its second successful Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) security audit for the Monetra® payment processing server software including CardShield®, Main Street's open, versatile, and secure data protection system for end-to-end encryption and transaction tokenization. "As one of very few companies to have successfully completed the strenuous PA-DSS validation twice, it is clear that Main Street is setting the standard for security within modern payment applications," said Brad House, Main Street's Senior Developer for the Monetra® products. "The payment processing industry has one of the most rapid upgrade and enhancement cycles around-- changes are announced at least twice a year from the card associations, and even more from some processors. Products that do not keep pace with industry-mandated changes rapidly become obsolete and can cost users millions of dollars in transaction downgrade penalty fees. As in the past, the Monetra® product was found to meet or exceed all 14 of the PA-DSS security criteria without requiring any additional external support, such as operation within secure network environment (as many other systems require). "Remaining true to our proactive approach to security, Monetra® has since its inception provided built-in, 'out-of-the-box' security features including full-strength cryptography for sensitive data encryption, secure communications, and internal IP filtering/firewall," Brad House explained. This validation also covers the CardShield® system.
