What is the official supported Operating System Version policy?
NOTE: This is our Operating System support policy, NOT our list of supported Operating Systems. The information provided herein is meant to allow you to determine if your OS is too old to be supported by Monetra, mainly due to security/PCI concerns. If you are running an actively supported OS that is newer than the newest version listed in its respective table, your OS is more than likely supported by Monetra.
As per PCI data security requirement 6.1, merchants must ensure all system components have the latest vendor-supplied patches installed, which implies that each component of their system must be actively supported by the vendor of that component. In following these rules, Monetra supports only those OS versions which are actively maintained by the originating vendor.
Appendix B of the PCI data security requirements do make exceptions for those merchants which have implemented sufficient compensating controls for any requirement. If a merchant has a need for an OS which Monetra does not support, as long as that merchant's PCI validator has signed off on the compensating controls, Main Street can be contracted to offer custom support for said OS for a fee.
Please reference the tables below for some known dates of support discontinuation for various OS vendors. For more information on OS version continuation, please contact the vendor of your Operating System. These dates are subject to change by the OS vendor.
